Little Lake Paddling Route

Little Lake Paddling Route

Difficulty Level: Intermediate
Distance: 6.5 km loop
Portages: None
Put-in/Take-out: Beavermead Park on Ashburnham Drive, Roger's Cove on Maria Street, T-wharf by the Art Gallery on Crescent St. (parking at Del Crary Park)

Notes: There is a current in many places along this route, especially near the bridges. Another easy, scenic route in the City is from the Trent University rowing club down the canal to the Lift Lock and back - you'll forget you're in the City!

Eels Creek Paddling Route Eels Creek Paddling Route

Difficulty Level: Intermediate
Distance: 7 km
Portages: 6 in summer, fewer in the spring, longest portage is 162 m
Put-in: Bridge at Haultain (Hwy. 28)
Take-out: Bridge at Northey's Bay Road

Notes: This route can be paddled in one direction only and requires some experience with paddling in moving water. Watch for and portage around High Falls.

Difficulty Level: Novice
Distance: 16 km
Portages: 4
Put-in/Take-out: First bridge on Beaver Lake Road

Notes: This map is ot intended for navigational use. Paddlers are advised to refer to topographical maps before attempting this route.

Indian River Paddling Route Indian River Paddling Route

Difficulty Level: Easy
Distance: 5 km one way
Portages: None
Put-in/Take-out: Warsaw Caves Conservation Area and Lions Park in Warsaw

Notes: This section of the river can be paddled in either direction.

Nogies Creek Paddling Route Nogies Creek Paddling Route

Difficulty Level: Easy
Distance: 5 km one way
Portages: One 100 m
Put-in/Take-out: Bridge over creek on Bass Lake Rd. off County Rd. 36

Notes: The creek disappears through the rocks for a short distance and reappears a short distance upstream. You must portage at this point. The footing on this portage is quite rough.
